Skills and Acquired Skills.

There are many skills in the game, most of which are the basic things everything else has covered.  The basic skills each fall under one or more of the 4 classes, and acquired skills are advanced skills which are gained by surviving a RISING event and returning to play again.  You may continue to level to a max of 3, and if you do not survive an event, you are reset back to Level 0.

Salvaging bullets is a skill used by marksmen.  They may find boxes labeled as "ammo" in game and when a safe room is found (with no combat), then you may approach a GM and salvage ammo.  A random numbered card will be drawn and that will be the amount salvaged from that box.  Certain acquired skills for marksmen will allow you to salvage multiples of the selected number.

Repairing armor is another bonus skill which can only be gained from levels.  Repairing armor can be done in a safe room on a 3 count to yours or any other player's armor.  It will return the player's armor points back to full starting value minus one.  This may only be done in a safe room, but can be used without limit.

Puzzle solving is a basic skill of engineers which gives the game its zest.  Puzzles frequently are designated as a "lock" to a door or box.  Multiple engineers may work on any one puzzle, and there is no limit to how many you solve.  The puzzles are of varying degrees of difficulty, often determined by the reward.  Even if another player in the group knows how to solve the puzzle, they may not help unless they are an engineer.

Puzzle solving skills can be acquired through leveling, which will allow an engineer to get hints or automatically solve a puzzle.

Other engineer skills allow for the use of grenades which can be found in game.  They can be designated as a "FLASH Bang" - which paralyzes the room it was thrown into.  A "shrapnel" grenade which can do damage to a group of zombies.  And an electronic "jam" grenade which can be used for bypassing electronic locks or other electronic devices ingame.

There are "group" puzzles in the game which do not take the skill of an engineer.  These are done through theming and environment rather than just a puzzle for one or two people to work on.
